Film program at Hanoi Cinematheque at the night of December
1.
Cinematheque will screen three films that address families
and HIV. One is Lua'story produced by Binh Dinh Broadcasting
and Television Agency in April 2006, followed by discussions
with the makers and their counterparts of the 05-06 center.
The second film is Why is there no moon during the daytime?, an
intimate glimpse into the lives of a Vietnamese couple ostracized
by their family and community as a result of contracting HIV.
The film highlights the double standards of morality that women
face in a male-dominated society. The director and HIV
infected women from the Hanoi Sunflower Support group will
discuss their collaboration. The feature of the night is Bear
Cub, a sexy, funny Spanish film by firector Albaladejo that
tackles pretty hairy subjects--and not just the unshaven members
of the gay bear scene.
The Sunflowers and the Cactus Blossom support
groups will join the other public activities as the previous
years with information booths at several locations in Hanoi
- Quang Ninh
The Ha Long's Women's Union and the Ha Long Sun Flower group
will host a event for children of all ages at Children's House
in Ha Long on December 1st. In the late afternoon there
will be a fair, creative activities and out door games for
young children 4-12. For older children there will be a music
festival by the Halong Sun Flower, Ha Tu Youth Union and volunteers;
and live discussion on love and marriage with the makers of
the radio program “Window of Love”
- Thai Nguyen
In November a Dutch music composer and a Dutch artist will work
with the Thai Nguyen Sunflower support group and the Women’s
Union on a collaborative art installation. The tentative opening
day is 28 November.
