Norwegian Mission Alliance - NMA
The Norwegian Mission Alliance (NMA) has been collaborating with
the National Institute of Dermatology-Venereology (NIDV) and Hochiminh
City Hospital of Dermatology-Venereology (HDV) in a 5-year project
(2003-2007) on a training program to provide northern and southern
senior staff with updated knowledge, information on STD case management
and HIV/AIDS. This activity is integrated into the quarterly scientific
conference which covers leprosy, skin diseases, STD and HIV/AIDS.
Upon request, we also provide financial support to invite international
expert on STD and HIV/AIDS or send NIDV, and HDV staff to international
conferences.
In the project with HDV, there is a component on education on leprosy/STD
and HIV/AIDS for secondary, highschool students and factory workers
in Hochiminh City. Since 2003, NMA started supporting HDV with STD
case management training. Training courses on syndromic approach
to STD case management have been conducted for district, and commune
health workers.
